The Seasonal Orders: Spring 2016

Spring is in the air, so let's get ready for it!

Welcome back to the Seasonal Orders! So far, 2016 has been off to a pretty good start, though there are still a lot of things to do in the year, so let's dive right into what's in store for the next three months and address some general maintenance!

REVIEW SCHEDULE

If you've been frequently visiting the site, you'll notice that there haven't been as many reviews published in 2016. Frankly, as of this time last year, I had way more reviews than I have out now. In March alone, I only covered Zootopia, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Broforce, and Batman v. Superman. So what gives with the fewer reviews?

Well first off, the past few months have been kind of busy for me, but that isn't the only reason why I have been cutting down on reviews. Basically, I want to try and balance out my work schedule with my actual real life schedule. Keep in mind, I'm still a university student with other things going on in his life, and I want to try and cut back on making more reviews with less passion and instead try fewer reviews with more passion. That means that you'll probably see more Double or Triple Features in the future so I don't have to force myself to dedicate a full review to a movie. Video games will still get full reviews, but that's mostly the nature of the beast.

As I make more money on Patreon (which I'll talk about later), I'll have more funding to actually see more movies to review and justify making more reviews. Keep in mind that I can see movies fairly often, but until it becomes a job, I have to prioritize accordingly, and other things just take precidence unfortunately. So at least for the spring, expect fewer reviews, but they'll be of much higher quality like my Batman v. Superman  one.

MOVIES

As is always the case, I'll try and see as many movies as I can within reason, and this list is always subject to change, but here are the movies that I plan on seeing upon release. Instead of saying how likely it is I'll review something though, let's try something new. I'll post the actual release date of the movie, and if a review has not been published a week since that release date, then chances are you won't get a review of it I'm afraid. Here are the movies I intend on seeing soon!

God's Not Dead 2 - April 1st
The Jungle Book - April 15th
Ratchet and Clank - April 29th
Captain America: Civil War - May 6th
The Nice Guys - May 20th
The Angry Birds Movie - May 20th
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising - May 20th
Alice: Through the Looking Glass - May 27th
TMNT: Out of the Shadows - June 3rd
The Conjuring 2 - June 10th
Warcraft - June 17th
Finding Dory - June 17th

VIDEO GAMES

So, I mostly was able to cover all of the games I wanted to cover this time (don't worry, Pokken Tournament is being worked on as we speak), but a few games were unfortunately delayed. That being said, several games I've been heavily looking forward to got release dates, and they're going to be for the next three months!

Huniecam Studios - April 4th
Bravely Second: End Layer - April 15th
Kirby Planet Robobot - June 10th
Tokyo Mirage Sessions: #FE - June 24th
Zero Time Dilemma - June 28th

Oh, I'm aware that Mighty No. 9 is also supposed to come out in the spring, but let's be honest here, it probably needs another delay just to be on the safe side.

ANIME

I wished I could have seen more anime titles this winter than I actually did (I've only seen 4 shows this winter), but that was mostly because of one huge reason that I'll get into in my seasonal review. For the spring though, there are actually a handful of shows that have great potential and seem right up my alley. Hell, I'm even going outside of my comfort zone with a few of these titles just to see what they're like. I have high hopes for most of these titles, so here's to hoping for great things!

And yes, I will be watching My Hero Academia. So We can all stop pestering me to watch it.

My Hero Academia
Kiznaiver
Joker Game
Flying Witch
Macross Delta
Sousei no Onmyouji

Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta?

PATREON

So the Patreon still exists! As of right now, it has achieved a whopping $0.00!

So yeah, while I wish that I could recieve some contributions, I've been thinking about adding a few more reward tiers to sweeten the deal. These would be more lower level tiers, like for $50 a month having something, but it's all still tentative and up in the air.

I would love feedback about it and what it would take me to have you become my patron! I want to provide content that anyone and everyone can enjoy, so the more feedback the better!

RETROSPECTIVE/TOP 10

I've sort of developed a unspoken rule now that every three months I'll do a retrospective that'll alternate between movies and video games. My latest retrospective is in the works right now and should be out by early next week, but I'm also thinking about doing a different kind of Top 10 for April/May.

Because I feel like I should have done a Best Villains list for October, and becasue I like to save my Top 20's for October , which is now unofficially Villain's Month, I think that I'm going to do a Top 10 list dedicated to those unspoken TV villains. It won't be a Top 20 because I honestly don't think that I can make a Top 20 about TV villains that I'VE personally seen, but I want to give something while you all wait for the next October villain's list. Other Top 10's will still be int he works, but that's the only public one I want to give away right now.

With all that said and done, I'll see you April 1st for my annual joke review!
